Rodney and Backstage Pass Backstage at the Whiskey

1977: Backstage Pass was an all-girl group that consisted of a mix of journalists and music insiders. I do not think they were ever signed to a record label, but that did not stop the magazines from publishing their photos. Pictured here with the band is Rodney Bingenheimer, the Mayor of the Sunset Strip. He is the single person who helped me most in my career. He took me around and introduced me to everyone on the scene in the Seventies. We are still good friends today. Check out his t-shirt. It really makes this photo!
