Joey Ramone In The Parking Lot 1979

Joey Ramone In The Parking Lot

1979: I am honored to have been a friend of Joey Ramone. I hung out with the Ramones on several occasions. We had memorable lunches at world-famous Duke's Coffee House on Santa Monica Blvd, attached to the infamous Tropicana Motor Hotel, favored by punks and other musicians. This photo was taken after a Ramones recording session at Hollywood's Gold Star Studios in Hollywood with producer Phil Spector. I took photos inside the studio and hung out with Joey, but the photos were a bit too posed. This is a prime example of capturing a moment in the street, or in this case, in the parking lot. Joey was a bit of a loner and you can feel it in these photographs.
