On The Way to Orange County 1977

On The Way To Orange Country

1977: I photographed all of Kim Fowley's bands. He was and still is a living legend and a brilliant record producer. He gave me a chance to photograph all of his bands when I was just a kid. He was loud, brash, arrogant and probably one the most creative industry players I have ever met.
He handpicked members of The Runaways right out of the parking lot at the Sugar Shack and The Starwood. He taught them to sing and to play. On one summer evening we traveled down to Orange Country in his limo and picked up these rather adorable girls pictured in the photo. After the concert, I remember him barking to the limo driver, "TO MY PALACE!!!" I never saw them again.
